ABOUT

Ayo Omolewa is a Nigerian-born music photographer, based in Maryland, whose work documents the emotional and cultural impact of live music. With almost a decade behind the lens, he has photographed artists across intimate venues, festivals, studios, building an extensive archive rooted in storytelling and lived experience.

I want the book to serve as a physical cultural artifact to remind music lovers about a generation of artists that were actually outside. A reminder that someone real was there documenting moments, unseen from the shadows of the photo pit. To be a point of reference for other music photographers maneuvering through the ups and downs of the craft.

The photobook not only represents Visual Record of a Generation in Music but also a culmination of Ayo’s journey as a Music Photographer. It features a foreword by esteemed Photographer Chi Modu, never before seen photos of artists on and off stage, a Social Media expansion detailing timeless moments documented in the book, and more.
